Ok. So here is my very first endeavor, posting my balloon art worldwide. So please, you'll have to excuse me if this isn't terribly organized or seems like it's a work-in-progress. It is. I'll get better as I do more posts. Maybe.
Here are a few pictures of the process of making a little scene of two penguins ice fishing.
Check it out:
Here is the Dad penguin with the fishing rod and the soon-to-be-dead fish. I didn't draw eyeballs on the bird or its dinner yet.
Here's a close-up of the unfortunate fish. I used uninflated 5" hearts for the fins. Uninflated = good. That means I can reuse 'em. I'm not made of money you know!
Good God! What this pile (and many MANY more balloons) became was a royal pain to blow up and put together. These are going to become the ice hole where the penguins are fishing. That hole had two versions. The first was a circular version, which didn't sit on the floor well, looked sloppy and made me want to punch it. So I canned it...
This was the version that got used. It sits more securely, looks cleaner and was less aggravating to put together than its rounder counterpart.
By the way, these balloons are a pearlized white. They shimmer a bit, and look like how ice would reflect sunlight.
Here's the final product: I'm pretty happy with it. I originally wanted a campfire next to the birds, but by the time this got done, I was tired, bored and irritated. Plus, my gorgeous girlfriend was waiting for me in the next room. So, I decided to call it an evening.
Dad penguin with his jubilant kid. "Daddy, this is great! Now we don't have to fight hobos at the Taco Bell dumpsters for day old Gorditas!" (Yes, I know there are no Taco Bells in Antarctica. But, while we're suspending disbelief, let's remember that penguins can't go fishing either.)
I have a fan page on Facebook called, "Airheads Entertainment." Search for more of my work there and become a fan. I'll be posting new art pieces about weekly. So check it out and you'll get pictures (and videos, soon) of original art about weekly. Thanks!
